Green Roof – Cambridge Hospital
BACKGROUND
Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) is one of the largest and best known hospitals in the UK. The Trust comprises Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie, offering general and specialist and women’s and maternity care respectively.
THE PROBLEM
As this was a new-build, there were no existing problems. As a result of the innovative design we were approached by Fabrite Engineering to specify a product to waterproof the steel canopies that were constructed for holding the Semper Green Vegetation System.
THE SOLUTION & BENEFITS
Patterson Protective Coatings Ltd specified Elastaseal 25 year as a product suitable to waterproof the steel canopy and resist the root structure of the Semper Green.

Patterson Protective Coatings Ltd specified Tor Elastaseal. Elastaseal is liquid cold applied roofing. It cures to provide completely seamless waterproof protection. Its curing process is moisture triggered, allowing application even in damp conditions.
