Structural Challenges in the Clean Water Industry.

Structural Challenges in the Clean Water Industry.

Patterson Protective Coatings Ltd stock a range of highly advanced repair mortars and cementitious coatings which are approved for use in public drinking water supplies and listed under the Water Regulations Advisory  (WRAS) & the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) Schemes.

Our products are water-based, low odour and low hazard, enabling safe application even when facilities are in normal operation. They also do not affect water quality, nor do they support the growth of micro-organisms. With minimal environmental risks and minimal disruption during application, Flexcrete’s repair mortars and protective coatings can be applied in confined spaces and all equipment can be easily cleaned with water after use. Once cured, they are resistant to water under 10 bar hydrostatic pressure (100m head of water) and have excellent resistance to soft water attack – a major problem in some reservoirs.

Clean Water Applications

Flexcrete’s range is ideal for containment in the clean water industry and can be used to enhance the durability of new construction, through to the refurbishment and decommissioning of water structures. Our materials can be reliably used for the treatment and upgrading of installations to extend the design life of structures and reduce maintenance cycles, in turn achieving significant cost savings.

Our waterproof products provide concrete and masonry with outstanding protection against typical problems encountered in the clean water industry, such as chemical attack, cracking, joint failure and surface corrosion. Compared to normal concrete, they provide greatly enhanced chemical resistance, including exceptional protection from soft or acidic moorland water. Once cured, Flexcrete products are resistant to water under 10 bar hydrostatic pressure.
