BACKGROUND
This project was a private dwelling in a harsh coastal environment. The home owner was competent in use with most of our protective coatings and wished to carry out the work himself.
THE PROBLEM
The harsh weather had deteriorated the roughcast render, that coupled with the ivy attaching itself to the surface had resulted in water ingressing through to the interior plasterwork.
THE SOLUTION & BENEFITS
Patterson Protective Coatings Ltd specified Rustoleum Murfill WP as a suitable protective coating that would far outlast a standard masonry paint while also giving the flexibility required in such a harsh environment. Murfill is a crack bridging elastomeric coating which waterproofs and protects against carbonisation and corrosion with a decorative finish.
The Murfill waterproofing system has been the reference for coating and waterproofing façades for many years. Rust-Oleum (Mathys) introduced Murfill Waterproofing Coating in the early seventies primarily for effective and contemporary solutions for the protection, renovation and decoration of façades. Through its know-how and unequalled quality Murfill has stood distinct from all other paint products and has developed worldwide into the ultimate reference in façade coating.
