Jotun Hardtop Optima is a two-component chemically curing polysiloxane resin-based coating.

Jotun Hardtop Optima is a polysiloxane topcoat that delivers a durable, premium finish along with excellent application properties. Notably, it offers outstanding colour and gloss retention, which ensures a long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing appearance. In addition, its superior abrasion and chemical resistance help maintain this beautiful finish over time.

Unlike traditional polyurethane coatings, Hardtop Optima contains high-volume solids, which result in a lower VOC content per litre. Consequently, this not only minimizes environmental impact but also reduces exposure risks for applicators. Furthermore, it features excellent application characteristics, particularly when applied using airless spray techniques.

Thanks to these benefits, Hardtop Optima is an ideal choice for sustainable projects aiming to earn green building certification points, such as those under LEED v4 and BREEAM International. Importantly, the formulation is free from isocyanates and does not release di-isocyanates even at elevated temperatures. As a result, it is both user- and environment-friendly, making it a preferred topcoat for projects with strong health, safety, and environmental (HSE) considerations.

Certificates and Approvals

Pre-qualified in accordance with NORSOK M-501 in selected systems.
When used as part of an approved scheme, this material has the following certification:
– Low Flame Spread in accordance with EU Directive for Marine Equipment. Approved in accordance with parts 5 and 2 of Annex 1 of IMO 2010 FTP Code, or Parts 5 and 2 of Annex 1 of IMO FTPC when in compliance with IMO 2010 FTP Code Ch. 8.
