Jotun Barrier a two-component polyamide cured zinc-rich epoxy coating.

Jotun Barrier is an 80% zinc epoxy primer specifically formulated for highly corrosive environments. With its very high levels of zinc dust, Barrier delivers excellent corrosion protection, especially when used as part of a complete coating system where extended durability is essential. Therefore, it serves as an ideal primer in atmospheric environments and performs exceptionally well on carbon steel, for the repair of inorganic zinc silicate coatings, and on damaged galvanised steel substrates. Additionally, Barrier complies with ASTM D520 Type II zinc dust standards, ensuring high performance and reliability.

Consequently, it is highly recommended for offshore environments, refineries, power plants, bridges, buildings, and structural steel or piping exposed to corrosivity categories up to CX, as defined by ISO 12944-2.

Moreover, Barrier is part of Jotun’s range of two-pack zinc-rich epoxy primers with a high zinc content. Specifically, it is recommended for use as a zinc-rich primer on blast-cleaned steel surfaces. Certificates and Approvals

Pre-qualification testing in accordance with NORSOK M-501, Rev. 5, System 1, suitable for exterior exposure in offshore environment, below 120 °C.

Low Flame Spread in accordance with EU Directive for Marine Equipment. Approved in accordance with parts 5 and 2 of Annex 1 of IMO 2010 FTP Code, or Parts 5 and 2 of Annex 1 of IMO FTPC when in compliance with IMO 2010 FTP Code Ch. 8
